The Burris Company has selected Hunter Outdoor Communications (HOC) as its public and media relations agency of record for the North American market.

This appointment includes the handling of Burris' line of sports optics as well as Steiner Germany's binocular and riflescope lines. HOC is a full-service public relations agency specializing in the outdoor, hunting, shooting, marine and military industries. It is headquartered in San Antonio, TX, and has an office in Richmond, VA.

The appointment is effective immediately.

Headed by industry veterans Karen Lutto and Mike Nischalke, HOC will develop and implement a very aggressive communications program in key markets for both optics lines, including but not limited to birding, law enforcement, military, travel, general outdoor, marine, boating, fishing and hunting. The HOC team will work closely with the Colorado-based in-house marketing team.

“We are excited to be working with the HOC team,” said Dennis Phillips, marketing manager. “Their experience and background are exactly what we need to take our marketing programs to the next level.”

Burris has been located in northern Colorado for nearly 40 years. In August 2010, Steiner moved its North American headquarters from Moorestown, N.J., to the Burris operation in Greeley. Both companies are part of Beretta Holding, S.p.A.
