Burley has hired former Toys R Us global product manager Brad Mina to lead product design and development for its wide range of outdoor recreational transport gear.

Mina, who was hired as Burley’s product design and development manager, was previously the global product development manager at Toys R Us for the retail giant’s private label bicycles, outdoor and sports equipment. In his new role at Burley, Mina will oversee all aspects of new product concepts, design and development from idea generation to final manufacturing and quality control.

Mina has also been tasked to strategically explore new product categories and markets for new Burley product introductions. The company, known for its award-winning, durable bicycle trailers has recently made headlines for its debut into the jogging stroller market with the Burley Solstice.

“Throughout my life I have had a passion for the outdoors and outdoor adventure. Burley provides the opportunity to apply my passion for design, the outdoors, and working with a dynamic team,” said Mina. “Burley has a rich heritage and strong reputation for an industry leading quality product. I look forward to honoring the Burley heritage by leading design and development efforts that explore beyond current categories and markets, creating products that move people.”

“We enthusiastically welcome Brad to the Burley team and look forward to leveraging his product development experience working for some of today’s leading outdoor retailers to continue bringing the safest, most durable and innovative transport gear to families worldwide,” said Burley CEO Michael Coughlin.

Mina has extensive professional experience in operations, product management, design and development, corporate planning, business development, product marketing and communication, market analysis, business operations and administration. In addition to Toys R Us, Mina has held product development roles at Leed’s, Cannondale and Eastern Mountain Sports.

Mina obtained a Masters of Science in Organization Development and Management and Business Administration from Antioch New England Graduate School at Antioch University; as well as a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design, and Associate of Science degrees in Architectural Engineering and Industrial Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
