Burley Design, a producer of outdoor recreational transport gear formed a partnership with Riteway Products Japan.

Beginning July 2017, Riteway will launch a dealer demo fleet at bike shops nationwide. Burley will thereby expand its existing presence in Japan through this partnership, as well as growing its independent bike dealer base.

“Bike trailers are not currently as commonplace in Japan as they are in other parts of the globe,” said Burley President Allison Coughlin. “We’re looking forward to broadening our reach into a market that hasn’t experienced a Burley adventure.”

Since being established in 1996, Riteway has distributed high-end bicycles and bike parts and accessories in Japan. It also focuses on advocacy and increasing ridership in Japan through its organization, Japan Bicycle Culture Association.

“We are excited to work with Burley to expand the use of bike trailers in Japan,” said Riteway marketing and brand manager Takanori Saki. “Burley’s multifunctional products are known around the world for their safety, quality and durability and we look forward to working with shops around the nation to provide people with the opportunity to demo a Burley Bike Trailer.”
