Brooks Sports tapped BioMechanica to reinforce its footwear Research & Development program with specialized product development and testing services.

As an outside research partner, BioMechanica will offer supplemental information to Brooks’ in-house test findings and lend its extensive knowledge of athletic footwear analysis and evaluation to facilitate the process.

BioMechanica will also provide Brooks with critical independent evaluation and validation of R&D concepts generated within Brooks’ Advanced Concepts department. In addition, BioMechanica will make recommendations regarding the Brooks testing lab so the facility will continue its leading-edge operations into the future.

“The Brooks footwear team is pleased to draw on BioMechanica as an industry-leading, independent source to augment our own internal testing facility in the development of new products,” says Brooks Sports Advanced Concepts Materials Engineer Derek Campbell.

BioMechanica is a private independent consulting firm with in-house evaluation and testing capabilities that specializes in athletic footwear research and development.

Martyn Shorten, Ph.D., BioMechanica founder and president, says his firm offers a unique advantage to clients by providing a comprehensive range of confidential biomechanical evaluation services.
“By using BioMechanica’s expertise in developing footwear test equipment and testing protocols, Brooks will be able to concentrate its efforts on the continuing advancement of its running shoes, and further solidify its standing as one of the top performance running brands in the world,” notes Shorten.
