Brooks Sports, Inc. was honored by Runner’s World’s global editors with awards for “Best Innovation,” “Brand Blazer,” and “Best Buy” at an annual Runner’s World ceremony-the culmination of Runner’s World’s International Shoe Summit.

According to Brooks Sports, the awards were given for:

• “Best Innovation” – Recognized for noteworthy advances in shoe technology and manufacturing, Brooks was honored for its pioneering use of HPR Green-an environmentally friendly, non-petroleum based outsole rubber-in combination with its use of compression-molded pre-form technology in its manufacturing process. This manufacturing process reduces material waste by more than 50 percent, while increasing material consistency.

• “Brand Blazer” – According to the 2006 Runner’s World Subscriber Study, Brooks reigns as the fastest growing brand among subscriber households. Since 2002, Brooks has outpaced all other brands with an ownership increase of 77.3 percent.

• “Best Buy” – The Brooks Vapor 7 took home the Fall 2006 Shoe Guide award for the top performance running shoe that delivers the best combination of advanced technical features at a competitive price.

“We are honored to receive such great recognition from Runner’s World and its editors,” said Mark Nenow, vice president of Global Footwear Merchandising at Brooks. “We look forward to building on this success by continuing to fine tune our product design, development and manufacturing in ways that are meaningful and inspirational for runners worldwide.”
