Syracuse University’s all-time leading lacrosse scorer, Mike Powell, signed a multiyear contract with Brine, Inc. Powell is both endorsed by Brine and has been appointed their Marketing Specialist to work with Brine’s advertising agency and launch Brine West in Denver, CO. This arm of Brine will focus on expanding distribution and introducing lacrosse to national and international markets. Powell is the first Brine player to be uniquely positioned as both an endorsed athlete and an employee.

Powell, a four-time NCAA Division 1 All-American, one of only four people to ever achieve this honor, will move to
Colorado next month to take on this new role in marketing the future lacrosse. “I signed on with Brine – which is
by far the best fit for me. They understand the game as I understand the game, and know where it’s going,” said
Powell.

As early as November of this year, a new Mike Powell-inspired product line will hit retail shelves, including hard goods, soft goods, performance and lifestyle products. The line is designed for players who have the confidence, conviction and courage to 'make a footprint of their own' – a lasting impression on the sport and on life. Powell will be very hands-on in the development of everything from lacrosse clothing to loungewear, footwear to equipment.

“Mikey is a unique force both on and off the field. He and Brine share a simple yet essential philosophy that will
define the future of lacrosse: to see the game grow, you have to do some things that have never been seen
before,” states Mike Martin, Brine’s VP of Sales and Marketing. Powell has already shown the game a handful of
things they’ve never seen before, including the front flip shot that was featured on ESPN as one of the best onfield
sports moves of 2004.

Powell is well known for his award-winning talent as an offensive attackman, as well as for his talents as a musician.

“If I don’t have a lacrosse stick in my hand, you can expect to see a guitar,” says Powell. “In my new role with
Brine, I’ll be working quite a bit with Outlook Music, Co. on a variety projects to market lacrosse through music.”
One of the first projects on Powell’s to-do list is to produce Countdown to Chaos – Volume 2, a compilation CD of
artists who encapsulate the soundtrack of lacrosse. Powell, along with Denver Bronco and Outlook Music, Co. owner Trevor Pryce will co-produce the album for release in late 2005.

“Mikey is lacrosse. He is the game, the attitude, the future. He has proven himself on the field, and now will prove himself off the field on a professional platform. With a supernatural talent for lacrosse and a fine-tuned ear for music, he’ll continue to be a force to be reckoned with,” said Pryce.
