North America’s largest ski resort operator has purchased another round of Float 32 airbags from snow safety equipment manufacturer Backcountry Access Inc. (BCA) of Boulder, CO to outfit Breckenridge ski patrol employees.

The fleet for Breckenridge Ski Resort complements Vail Resorts existing fleet of Float 32’s purchased in December for Vail, Beaver Creek and Keystone and the companys Float 30’s purchased in 2011 by Kirkwood in California.

“Breckenridge Ski Resort has one of the most sophisticated avalanche programs in the country,” said BCA VP and co-founder Bruce Edgerly. “This is another example of their progressive approach to snow safety.” Edgerly notes Vail Resorts has led the industry in protecting its workers, first by promoting the use of helmets and now with its commitment to airbags. “Were proud to be associated with Vail Resorts and to support their culture of employee safety,” he added.

The Breckenridge Ski Patrol is excited to receive our new fleet of Back Country Access Float 32 airbag packs, said Breckenridge snow safety supervisor Will Barrett. BCA is the industry leader in developing and providing the best, most innovative avalanche rescue gear to recreationists and professionals alike. It is extremely exciting to be out front in the snow safety industry by supplying the latest state-of-the-art personal protection equipment to our employees who conduct avalanche control work, added Breckenridge and Vail Resorts spokesperson Kristen Stewart. We are proud to be working with BCA on this initiative.
