Three cast members from the iconic 1979 cycling film “Breaking Away” met on stage to kick off an incredible celebration of the cycling industry at the 2015 Interbike Awards Gala on Thursday, Sept. 17th at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

Dennis Quaid (Mike), Dennis Christopher (Dave Stoller) and Jackie Earle Haley (Moocher) addressed the audience and posed with custom “Cutters” jerseys courtesy of Champion Systems, and a replica Masi road bike similar to the one used in the film.

Hosted by comedy veteran Alonzo Bodden, the awards ceremony presented more than 35 winners with the coveted IB Award. Retailers honored included:

  • Best Urban/Lifestyle Shop: Bicycle Habitat – New York, NY​
  • Best Pro Road Shop: ATA Cycle – Concord, MA​
  • Best Mountain Bike Shop: Absolute Bikes – Salida, CO; Bryson City Bicycles – Bryson City, NC​
  • Best Women’s/Female Friendly Shop: Pedal Chic – Greenville, NC​
  • 2015 Retailer of the Year: Landry’s Bicycles – Boston, MA
