Bowtech and Diamond Archery, both owned by the Pure Archery Group, are relocating operations from Eugene, OR, to Houston, TX. The relocation includes an expansion of operational capabilities and a new facility designed to “strengthen collaboration, accelerate innovation and support the future growth of the brands and the archery community they serve.”
Pure Archery acquired Diamond Archery in 2024 and merged it into its Bowtech subsidiary.
“This next chapter is about momentum,” said Colin Legge, Bowtech’s CEO and president, in a media release. “Relocating to Houston positions us to continue investing in the future of our brands, our products and the people who support them. This is not about changing who we are; it is about continuing to grow, evolve, and invest in the future of archery while staying committed to the hunters and shooters who trust our brands.”
Pure Archery said the facility is “designed to support innovation, product development, production and brand storytelling.
Bowtech commented, “The space will allow Bowtech to provide a deeper look into the people, processes and passion behind the brand through expanded behind-the-scenes content, facility tours and greater access to the teams building the products archers rely on. Long-term, the company’s vision is to develop the new headquarters into a true ‘Bowtech Experience’ destination. The facility is being designed with the future in mind, creating opportunities for consumers, dealers, media partners, and the archery community to engage with the brand in a more immersive and hands-on environment.”
As part of the broader organizational transition, Excalibur Crossbow will now operate under the leadership and direction of Savage Arms.
Pure Archery and Savage Arms are separate portfolio companies owned by the same parent private equity firm, JDH Capital. JDH Capital acquired Savage Arms in July 2019 and Pure Archery Group in July 2022. Pure Archery brands include Bowtech, Diamond, Excalibur, Black Gold, TightSpot, RipCord and Octane. Savage Arms includes Savage firearms and Stevens.
Pure Archery said the alignment “allows Bowtech, Diamond Archery and Black Gold Premium Accessories to remain fully focused on advancing the vertical bow category, while positioning Excalibur for continued growth and support within the Savage Arms organization.”
Black Gold Premium Accessories, including Ripcord Rests and TightSpot Quivers, will continue production operations from their existing Belgrade, MT facility.
Pure Archery said the relocation and operational transition will occur in phases throughout the remainder of 2026 with minimal disruption.
“We ask for a little grace as our teams work through this transition,” said Legge. “We are building for the future while continuing to operate at full speed. Our goal is to keep downtime to an absolute minimum, continue supporting our customers throughout the move, and come out of this transition stronger than ever as we head into 2027.”
