The Boulder Outdoor Specialty Group (BOSG), announced the recent hiring of new in-house industrial designers Vincent Mares and Javier Quiroga and product manager for sleeping bags Rebecca Larsen. BOSG's  brands include Kelty, Kelty KIDS, Sierra Designs, Slumberjack, Wenger, and Ultimate Direction.

In addiiton, long time in-house designer Jason Belaire was recently promoted to Design Manager and will be responsible for the creative direction of all BOSG products. Tasked with building the design department and creating successful products to meet BOSG's strategic product goals, Belaire’s roll will be crucial in the overall look, feel, and functionality of all BOSG equipment.

“The recent addition of Vincent, Javier, and Becky mark a distinct change in design and product management philosophy here in Boulder,” said Kenny Ballard, president of the BOSG. “With a dedicated staff of designers working under the leadership of Jason Belaire and a new product manager for our cornerstone sleeping bag segment, all Boulder brands will benefit from a unified design vision, creating outdoor gear that is unique to each brand at BOSG.”

Mares and Quiroga bring a wealth of design and user knowledge to Boulder and will be charged with creating and refining a wide variety of outdoor gear including apparel, tents, sleeping bags, backpacks, and hydration systems. Larsen has years of product management experience, having worked with a variety of outdoor gear manufacturers.

Vincent Mares arrives at the BOSG after working as the Senior Product Designer for Gregory Mountain Products, responsible for technical and life-style backpack design and development, and Senior Designer with CamelBak, designing soft goods for the recreation, military, and industrial safety product lines. A passionate outdoors person, Vincent enjoys snowboarding, backpacking, rock climbing, and mountain biking in his free time.

Javier Quiroga is a recent graduate from the Art Institute of Colorado. With a wide variety of experience, Javier has degrees in business and tourism from the University of Peru. He also owned his own guiding company called “Condor Adventures” that took clients throughout North and South America, Europe and Africa. His time spent mountaineering and climbing has given Javier a unique insight into what outdoor enthusiasts look for in their equipment.

With years of product management experience at Crocs, Classic Sport Companies, and Huffy Sports, Becky Larsen brings a deep knowledge of product development, outdoor equipment design, and consumer expectations to her new roll with the BOSG. An avid outdoors enthusiast, Becky can often be found exploring the backcountry around her Colorado home.
