Confluence Watersports named Martin Davis-Skjøth as head of design at Bomber Gear, which makes a premium line of technical paddlesports apparel targeted for rapid growth.

Davis-Skjøth brings more than 20 years of apparel design experience with 16 years of experience in the fitness and outdoor apparel industry in both the U.S., and abroad. He has worked in Hong Kong, China, London, Denmark and the United States.

Martins impressive background in fitness apparel design at international companies will be a great asset to Bomber Gear, said Chris Pageau, general manager of accessories at Confluence Watersports. His extensive understanding of trends, global markets, and material innovation will help the brand grow. Its important to us to honor Rick Frankens legacy, to ensure Bomber Gear continues to be known for making the most technical, comfortable, high performance paddling gear, and to continue building a brand to which so many paddlers are passionately loyal.

Davis-Skjøth began his career at the Danish fashion house, Carli Gry, and went on to work with globally recognized fitness and apparel brands. He has worked with Nike International as a product designer, at Reebok International as a lead/senior designer, and at the online trend agency WGSN as Head of Sport, where he was responsible for interpreting and communicating global active wear trends. Most recently, since 2010, Davis-Skjøth was mens design manager for Under Amours inline sport and combined training performance apparel, the companys largest category.

It is a humbling opportunity to be taking over the direction of this brand from a visionary such as Rick, and I feel lucky to be continuing his legacy while also building on that success with a fresh inspiration for product and passion for design, said Davis-Skjøth. Bomber Gear has always created exceptional product for sports that are centered around pure performance, and I am excited to further that work by drawing from Rick’s foundational vision, my own aesthetic and experience, and by staying ahead of trends and consumer needs as the industry continues to push forward.”

For 2013, Bomber Gear expanded its product line to include dry suits, splash tops and layering pieces for the touring and SUP markets. The brand plans to accelerate expansion of its product offerings and colorways, and is committed to making the highest quality gear designed to keep paddlers warm and dry in any conditions
