Boise State and Nike have agreed to a six-year contract extension valued at an average of more than $2 million per year, Director of Athletics Curt Apsey announced.

The agreement is pending approval from the Idaho State Board of Education.

The average annual distribution in the all-sport agreement, which runs through 2024-25, nearly doubles what the Broncos received in the previous contract with Nike.

“Continuing our partnership with Nike was a top priority for us,” Apsey said. “Nike has played a major role in the success of Boise State Athletics, and I’m excited to continue a relationship between what we feel are two innovative, forward-thinking brands. Our coaches were overwhelmingly in support of moving forward with Nike.”

Over the course of the six-year extension, the total value of the contract is $12.16 million, including cash compensation and product for each of Boise State’s 20 varsity programs.

“Nike is proud of our longstanding relationship with Boise State Athletics, providing the Broncos with athletic footwear, apparel and equipment,” said Kit Morris, senior director college sports at Nike. “We are excited to continue in our support of Boise State student-athletes, teams, coaches and programs.”

“When you think elite in the world of sports and apparel, Nike is at the top of the list,” Boise State football coach Bryan Harsin said. “We couldn’t be more fired up as a program to be outfitted by and affiliated with a brand as powerful as Nike. There is no doubt they make us better with the latest equipment technology, style and from a recruiting standpoint.”

The Boise State football program has been in partnership with Nike since 2003, and Boise State Athletics entered into its first all-sport agreement with the brand in 2011.

“Nike and Boise State Athletics share many of the same values,” Bronco men’s basketball head coach Leon Rice said. “Our primary objective is to serve our student-athletes, build on our successes and win as a team. I am very much looking forward to our future collaborations with Nike. Being a ‘Nike School’ makes a difference!”

”What this really equates to is putting our student-athletes first,” Boise State women’s basketball head coach Gordy Presnell said. “Nike is pressure-tested in competition, and it was important to us–all of us–that we continue working with a company that cares about our student athletes as much as we do.”
