Boathouse Sports, the Philadelphia-based manufacturer of custom athletic apparel, announced that it will make its Pinnacle “Unisuit,” a one piece uniform designed and developed in collaboration with the U.S. National Rowing Team, available to all rowing teams.

Boathouse Sports has been working with the U.S. National Team since February of 2009 to design, develop and test rowing specific products (unisuits, rowing trou's, racing jersey's, rowing jackets and training gear) in preparation for the 2012 Olympic Games in London, England.

The first product to result from the partnership between Boathouse Sports and the U.S. National Rowing Team is the Pinnacle “Unisuit.”  The Pinnacle uses Boathouses proprietary sublimation process to directly infuse the color dyes into the fabric of the uniforms to eliminate cracking, peeling and fading of numbers while also preserving all of the performance characteristics of the material including: minimizing weight, moisture wicking and allowing for almost unlimited customization. The “Pinnacle” unisuit also features Boathouse's new double lock “Zero Friction” stitching process to position the seams for unlimited freedom of movement and maximum comfort for the rower.

“Providing and developing the best performance products for the world's most elite athletes has been our mission from day one,” said John Strotbeck, Founder of Boathouse Sports.

The early results have already proven that the partnership is paying off in international competition success with the U.S. National Men's and Women's Team taking home three gold medals, three silver medals and a bronze medal in August at the 2009 World Rowing Chamiponships in Ponzan, Poland.

“It is extremely gratifying to see such fantastic results so early in our partnership with the U.S. National Rowing Team,” said Doug Tibbetts, President and Chief Executive Officer of Boathouse Sports.  “The Pinnacle is just the first of many products we will be offering to teams for the 2010 season and beyond.”
