Boa Technology’s precision lacing systems will appear in four premium cycling shoe brands in the coming year. Specialized, Lake, Scott and Pearl Izumi will all debut mountain and/or road shoes featuring Boa Technology, first at EuroBike in Friedrichshafen this week, then at Interbike in Las Vegas next month.

Specialized will continue to offer both mountain and road versions of their extremely popular S-Works. This shoe received significant airtime time during the coverage of the 2006 Tour de France. Embattled Tour star, Floyd Landis swears by them and rode them to victory, not only in the Tour de France, but this year’s Paris-Nice, Tour of California and Tour de Georgia. Other professional cyclists like Matthias Kessler of Germany and Sandy Casar from France, who both took stages in this year’s Tour, wear them as well.

Lake, Scott and Pearl Izumi have continued to embrace the Boa Lacing System by integrating Boa’s LSR Technology into their 2007 models. The newest evolution of Boa’s shoe reels, the LSR reel is smaller than the previous models and allows for more minute and intuitive adjustments. Lake will offer six models this year, including a heat moldable carbon shoe, a high-end carbon shoe and a winter shoe – all in mountain and road versions. Scott has upgraded their pro carbon road and mountain shoes with Boa’s LSR reels and Pearl Izumi has refined their Viper shoe with their new offering, the Viper II mountain bike shoe for 2007.
