BMC Switzerland has named John Glett as company CEO, effective January 1, 2026. He will reportedly lead the next phase of development for the Swiss premium cycling brand, continuing the strategic initiatives set by outgoing CEO David Zurcher.

Zurcher, who took the helm in 2014, is credited with transforming BMC into an independent and self-financed business. His leadership is reported to have been “marked by a deep infusion of bike industry expertise into the company’s management team,” including the appointment of John Glett as chief sales officer.

“We are entering a pivotal new chapter at BMC,” offered Zurcher. “We’ve established BMC as a true product and technology leader, sharpened our portfolio to focus on the areas where BMC truly excels, built a strong lineup for the upcoming season, and cultivated a fantastic team. This is the perfect moment for a leadership transition. John brings deep experience with BMC and the industry, fresh ideas, and tremendous energy to take the brand to the next level.”

David Zurcher is expected to continue supporting BMC as a member of the Board, with the company benefiting from his extensive network and industry expertise.

Glett, a Swiss national who grew up in the region, reportedly brings over a decade of experience leading BMC’s global sales efforts. He has also gained valuable international experience through key roles at major industry players, giving him a broad perspective on the global cycling market.

“I’m truly honored to be entrusted with shaping the future of such an iconic brand as BMC,” said Glett. “Over the past months, we’ve worked hard to prepare BMC for a strong start into its next chapter – and refining our focus on what we do best.”

Glett said the company is now in a great position to grow within its core segments (Road and Gravel) and, at the same time, actively looking to expand the company’s presence in regions where BMC is underrepresented.

“With a passionate team, a product line that reflects the pinnacle of performance, and a clear vision, I’m confident BMC is ready to reach new heights,” Glett concluded.
