Textile chemistry and manufacturing standards body Bluesign has appointed Hanane Taidi as its new chief executive.
Taidi brings over 20 years to the role, having held positions in sustainability, public affairs and communications. Most recently, she was director general of the TIC Council, an association for companies in testing, inspection and certification, where she led the merger of IFIA and CEOC into one globally recognized trade body.
She has also served as an adviser to the European Commission on sustainability policy since 2014, a background Bluesign expects will help its users navigate regulation like the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), the latter of which includes the mandate for Digital Product Passports.
The appointment comes as Bluesign, based in Switzerland, has transitioned beyond its work as a standard and is supporting companies as they manage compliance and data.
“Bluesign has built a powerful foundation rooted in science and trust,” noted Taidi. “The opportunity ahead is to scale that impact, giving the industry the tools, data and systems needed to turn responsibility into measurable progress.”
