FESI, the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry, announced that Black Diamond Equipment has joined FESI as an associated member.

FESI in Brussels represents the interest of some 1800 companies.

FESI's Board of Directors have unanimously accepted the application of the Black Diamond Equipment, which has joined FESI's Ski & Ski Boots working committee from the 1st of March 2012 onwards and, as such, will participate in the 2011/2012 Ski Material market research.

Bichi FESI's Secretary General “this clearly shows the continuous success of FESI's annual market evaluation of sale figures for Skis, Ski boots and Ski Bindings as well as of the overall representation activity.”

FESI's members directly and indirectly employ about 650,000 workers in the EU with a turnover of over €65 billion in economic activity in 2010. 70-75 percent of FESI's membership is made up of Small and Medium Enterprises. 1,800 companies are members, either directly or indirectly through national sports industry federations from Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and the UK.  FESI also includes some of the most renowned global sporting goods brands such as Adidas and Puma from Germany, UMBRO from the UK and Tecnica from Italy.
