Big Rock Sports, LLC, finalized the acquisition of Inland Pacific Distributors, Ltd. Inland Pacific, which is based in Langley, British Columbia, Canada, operates out of three regional distribution centers across Canada, and has been servicing the independent sporting goods channel for more than 40 years.

“Acquiring Inland Pacific will enable Big Rock Sports to deliver the most comprehensive and diverse outdoor sports product offering to the Canadian market,” said Ed Small, chief executive officer. “Independent sporting goods retailers in Canada will still find the same great service they always experienced through Inland Pacific along with access to the unparalleled range of products and services of Big Rock Sports.”

Former owners Stu Slater and Tony Nesci sold Inland Pacific to Big Rock Sports in an effort to continue to grow the company following their planned retirement.

“After 40-plus years of serving the independent retailer, Tony and I decided it was time to transition Inland to someone who would continue to build upon the success and commitment we have made to the industry,” said Slater, former president of Inland Pacific. “Our research clearly indicated that partnering with Big Rock Sports was the right thing for our customers, employees, vendor-partners, and the industry, as Tony and I transition into retirement.”

Slater and Nesci will continue to work with Big Rock for an indefinite transition period to ensure a seamless transition of ownership.

Big Rock Sports was assisted in this transaction by Bellmark Partners in Cleveland, Ohio.
