Big Rock Sports, based in Graham, NC, acquired Redl Sports Distributors Ltd., the Canadian fishing, hunting, shooting sports and camping wholesale distributor based in Pitt Meadows, BC, from its parent company Maurice Sporting Goods.

The transaction will enable Redl Sports to continue operations and supply its customers with a wider assortment of products in the fishing and shooting sports categories.

Big Rock Sports initially expanded into western Canada by acquiring Inland Pacific in 2011. That gave Canadian outdoor retailers access to a greater assortment of shooting sports and fishing products as well as business-building resources. Since then, Big Rock Sports has continued to invest in its Canada operations through the acquisitions of KTL Canada in 2015 and Redl Sports in 2017, and through continued investment in infrastructure to support the needs of Canadian outdoor sporting goods retailers.

“I’m very excited that Redl is able to join forces with Big Rock Sports,” said Brent McCallum, general manager of Redl Sports. “Big Rock and Redl are both committed to the long-term support of the Canadian outdoor market. The relationship with Big Rock enables us to continue offering outdoor retailers the resources that they need while providing them access to the largest outdoor sporting goods product offering in Canada.”

“Big Rock Sports is proud to support Redl Sports and each of their customers with additional products and services,” said Andy Melville, president of Big Rock Sports. “We are pleased to keep the entire Redl sales and customer service team, phone numbers and email addresses in place. This will allow Redl customers to continue to work with their long-time partners and friends without disruption.”

Redl Sports Distributors is a family operated wholesale distributor of fishing, hunting, shooting sports and camping products. Redl has been serving outdoor retailers throughout Western Canada for more than 40 years.

The premier outdoor sporting goods distributor in North America, Big Rock Sports, LLC, is focused on supplying more than 15,000 retailers with products from over 1,200 manufacturers as well as the tools needed to navigate today’s marketplace.
