Big 5 Sporting Goods Corp. said in a financial filing that it entered into a an independent contractor services agreement with Thomas Schlauch, its head buyer who is planning to retire.
As reported, Big 5 on June 7 appointed Boyd O. (“Bud”) Clark senior vice president, buying, effective Aug. 1. Schlauch, who has served in that role for 19 years, plans to resign from the position effective Aug. 1.
Under the agreements, Schlauch will cease to be employed by the company and Big 5 as of August 1. Thereafter, Schlauch will provide certain consulting services to Big 5 for a period of two years.
