Best Buy said that for the first time, it will offer licensed sports merchandise on its website through a partnership with Fanatics. The addition comes as Best Buy launched its third-party marketplace, with the Fanatics product available online only.
Best Buy said in a press release, “For the first time, Best Buy will soon add licensed sports merchandise to its product lineup with the introduction of officially licensed sports product from Fanatics. Shoppers will be able to rep their teams with a vast assortment of accessories, including phone cases, mini football helmets and more.”
The retailer said Best Buy Marketplace will more than double the number of products available online and add “new brands, categories and products.” Another new category is musical instruments, while consumers can shop broader selections within tech products and accessories, as well as in furniture, small appliances, indoor and outdoor seasonal décor, and toys.
“Our customers have always looked to us to bring excitement and inspiration in ways only technology can,” stated Frank Bedo, chief marketplace and e-commerce officer at Best Buy. “With marketplace, we’re able to give them not only more of the latest technology, but a massive new collection of products outside of the tech space, so we can truly offer the full experience they need.”
