Berghaus, the U.K. outdoor brand, appointed James Harris as its chief operating officer as part of an ongoing restructuring announced earlier this year.  Harris took a seat on the Berghaus International Board Sept. 1 and will be responsible for the brand’s global planning, operations, supply chain and customer services.  He will also direct operations within Hong Kong based Berghaus Asia.

Harris joins Berghaus from PZ Cussons where he held the role of head of logistics.  He brings with him a wealth of experience in FMCG end to end supply chain management, with previous roles at HJ Heinz, Burton Foods and United Brake.

Richard Cotter, Berghaus brand president, comments:
“This role is a significant appointment for Berghaus and takes us another step closer to achieving our global goals.  James has exactly the breadth and depth of experience that we require in our chief operating officer and I am delighted that he will now be playing a role in delivering this brand’s ambitious strategy and plans around the world.”

“Berghaus is a company that is developing fast and that was obvious to me from my first contact with the team,” said Harris. “As a fan of the outdoors, it is a brand that I have been familiar with for many years, and has a long heritage and deep authenticity that has also been the mark of some of my previous employers.  What really appeals to me about Berghaus is the combination of passion, appetite and dynamism that exist in the organisation, allied to a determination to get the job done.  This is a business that has clear global objectives and has set about achieving those with real purpose.  I am hugely looking forward to joining the company and getting stuck into the tasks at hand.”
