Bergans of Norway announced Lorraine Huber joins its roster of international athletes. At the age of 34, Huber is a top 10 ranked freeride skier and a true pillar of the skiing community.

As a Bergans athlete, she will be an integral part of Bergans' team of product testers, which ranges from polar explorers to sport climbers, from telemark skiers to jibbers, and from alpinists to paddlers. Bergans calls the collaboration a perfect match.

“Working with a company, as dedicated to its craft as Bergans, is something I have always dreamed of. I knew that they had good products, but now that I am better acquainted with the quality and the craftsmanship, I am really impressed. Bergans always gives 100 percent to anything they do, and I find this immensely appealing,” says Lorraine Huber.

Huber was born and raised a few blocks from a ski lift in Lech, Austria, and started skiing at the age of three. She was already an experienced downhill skier and ski instructor when she discovered the fantastic world of freeride skiing at the age of 18.

Huber has since made a name for herself as one of the world's top female freeriders. She has claimed a place on the podium in countless competitions over the past ten years and was the overall winner of the Freeride World Qualifier Tour in 2013. She has also demonstrated formidable skills on extreme slopes in several films.
“Lorraine and Bergans are a perfect match. She is both qualified and experienced, and an innovative and expansive thinker. These are qualities we value at Bergans. We are really looking forward to tapping into Lorraine's experience and knowledge,” says Rune Dokken, Bergans Sponsorship Manager.

Huber is particularly excited about women's participation and visibility in sports. She appears in the film Shades of Winter, which is one of the first big ski movies featuring only female skiers. She also arranges ski camps for experienced girl freeriders who want to climb all the way to the top, holds lectures, organizes film festivals, and has a column about life as a freerider in the German freeride magazine Bergstolz.
