Bauerfeind, a maker of orthopedic braces and other devices to support the joints and the back, and the National Basketball Association announced a new multiyear partnership making Bauerfeind’s GenuTrain NBA an officially-licensed knee support of the league.

“We’re very excited about this opportunity to bring our authentic on-court knee supports of the NBA directly to basketball players of all levels,” said Warren Colter, CEO, Bauerfeind USA.

The ties between Bauerfeind and the NBA started more than a decade ago when athletic trainers introduced players to the original GenuTrain knee support. The active support has become an integral part of NBA teams’ injury prevention and treatment.

“As athletic trainers for professional athletes, we have a choice in which products we put on our players. Bauerfeind quickly developed a reputation among athletic trainers for reducing pain and swelling while adding stability – all without bulky hinges,” said Joe Sharpe, Chairman of the National Basketball Athletic Trainers Association (NBATA) “As the association’s trusted brand of braces and supports, Bauerfeind received our full recommendation to the NBA.”

Bauerfeind’s official brand ambassador is Dallas Mavericks’ power forward and 13-time NBA All-Star Dirk Nowitzki. “I’ve been a fan of Bauerfeind products for many years now,” said Nowitzki. “I have been able to rely on my body for 21 seasons – and Bauerfeind helps me to do that. Its products are world-class.”

The GenuTrain NBA knee support will be available Dec. 12 at sports retail locations nation-wide and at bauerfeind.com. Other markets around the globe will launch in late 2018 and 2019. For more information, visit www.bauerfeind.com.
