Bauer Hockey Inc. has extended its agreement with the University of Minnesotas hockey program as the exclusive equipment provider for the mens and womens Division I hockey teams. The five-year agreement outfits the Gophers exclusively in Bauer equipment on ice, including helmets, sticks and gloves.

The mens hockey team is the defending regular season Big Ten Conference champion and is the current NCAA Championship runner-up, and the womens program is the defending Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) champion and current NCAA Championship runner-up. Combined, the mens and womens programs have earned nine NCAA national championships and six of the schools student-athletes have earned the Hobey Baker Award and the Patty Kazmaier Award, respectively, as the most outstanding collegiate hockey player.
