Battenfeld Technologies, Inc., owned by Smith & Wesson Holding Corporation, intends to acquire the assets of Hooyman Saws, a manufacturer of extendable tree saws designed for the hunting and outdoor industry.

Hooyman Saws was founded in 2008 when Andrew Hooyman and his family developed a tree saw that functioned as both an extendible saw and a folding saw.

This unique feature, combined with adjustability, an exclusive positive locking design feature, and the strength of aircraft grade aluminum, helped to make the Hooyman Saw ( tiny.cc/8l75rx )  a favorite among consumers as well as recognized hunting sports and outdoor industry personalities.

Andrew Hooyman, said, “We are proud that our original product concept has grown to become a leading brand in the hunting and outdoor industry, a success that we owe to both product innovation and to our loyal customer base. We look forward to the Battenfeld Technologies team taking Hooyman Saws to its next level of success with new product developments and a continuation of the exceptional service and support that our customers have enjoyed.”

Battenfeld President, Jim Gianladis, said, “We are excited about adding Hooyman Saws to the Battenfeld Technologies family of brands. Andrew has successfully established and grown the brand, and we believe that foundation, combined with our ability to bring high quality, innovative products to the market, provide us with an exciting opportunity to further grow and expand the Hooyman product line.”

Battenfeld Technologies plans to locate Hooyman operations in its Columbia, Missouri facility, effective upon completion of the acquisition, with no expected impact on deliveries of Hooyman products.

Based in Columbia, Missouri, Battenfeld Technologies develops and sells shooting, reloading, gunsmithing, and gun cleaning supplies under several popular, premium brands, including Caldwell® Shooting Supplies, Wheeler® Engineering, Tipton® Gun Cleaning Supplies, Lockdown® Vault Accessories, Frankford Arsenal®, Non-Typical Wildlife SolutionsTM and others.
