BackcountryStore.com has changed its name to Backcountry.com and re-launched with a new look. For the past seven years Backcountry.com has been posting triple digit sales increases, and Dustin Robertson, Marketing Manager for the online retailer, told BOSS that Q1 showed more of the same. “It gets harder each year as the numbers get bigger,” said Robertson. “The growth was in the triple digits again.”

He went on the say that most of the growth is coming from new customers, but the continued product expansion has been helping as well. To support both of these factors, the companies catalog circulation and page count doubled this quarter. “We brought in skate shoes this year because when you look around, that’s what people are wearing when they’re not in the woods,” said Robertson. “You can’t live in your Gore-Tex all of the time.”
