Australia-based Bont Cycling appointed Alex Malone as chief executive officer. Malone officially steps into the position, having led the cycling footwear maker over the past eight months, previously serving as the company’s global marketing manager.

Bont Cycling, manufacturer of “anatomically correct” cycling shoes, said Malone’s appointment “reflects its commitment to global expansion and long-term profitability.”

“The foundation of Bont Cycling shoe design has, and remains, one of the most powerful assets to our story”, said Malone. “Now, it’s about building on our momentum and bringing the brand to an even wider global audience.

“Now more than ever, our primary focus is to deliver the very best products and service to our customers across every channel. I have and will always remain a ‘student’ of the industry and step into the position with an even greater level of motivation to truly drive the business forward,” continued Malone.

“We have witnessed Alex’s passionate and unrelenting approach to the business, and his ability to step up has long been demonstrated. Now, it’s about providing him with the resources to effectively launch Bont Cycling into the next chapter,” said company Director of Cycling, Andrew Hassall.
