Asics North America announced several promotions, including naming Mike Dougherty as chief operating officer, based out of Asics’ Boston office, and a new structure for its commercial organization.
Dougherty joined the brand in 2023 and previously served as VP of Commercial. In his new role, he oversees all commercial business, reporting to Koichiro Kodama, Asics North America chairman of the board, president and CEO of Asics North America and managing executive officer at Asics headquarters.
“As our brand continues to see great momentum, Mike has been instrumental in executing a sound strategy, navigating the team to more efficient operations and a much more interconnected organization,” said Kodama. “We trust in his leadership and have great confidence that he will continue to drive our business forward with me and the team as we strive to achieve our ambitious targets across categories.”
Along with Dougherty, Asics North America announced a series of promotions to the executive leadership team, including Cat Ayers to vice president of marketing and Kelly Fatouretchi to vice president of merchandising and categories.
Asics’ commercial organization will now be led by Kevin McHale and Jennifer Tarantino. McHale was promoted to VP of Run Specialty, E-commerce and Retail, and Tarantino to VP of Wholesale.
Along with these new promotions, the executive leadership team reporting into Dougherty includes Barbara Turner, chief administrative officer; Paul Ljucovic, chief financial officer; Tim Durken, vice president and general counsel; Junya Nakamura, vice president of operations; and Toshi Doi, senior director of corporate strategy.
Kris French, country manager for Asics Canada, and Julien Dionot, country manager for Asics Mexico, will continue to report into Kodama.
