Ashworth, Inc. announced it was awarded the contract by Pinehurst Resorts, Inc as the lead apparel vendor for the 2005 U.S. Open Championship to be held at the Pinehurst Resort, June 13-19, 2005.

Under terms of the contract, Ashworth will be the leading vendor for the event and for the period leading up to it. Ashworth will be providing a state-of-the-art fixture program for the 35,000 square foot Merchandise Pavilion and will have a significant product presence with many of its product categories represented in the pavilion. The pavilion will have the look and feel of a high-end retail shop with an interior design that will reflect the spirit of Pinehurst while celebrating the game of golf. Ashworth plans to grow its business with the Pinehurst resort shops leading up to the U.S. Open.

It is expected that record crowds will attend the 2005 U.S. Open as they did for the 1999 U.S. Open also held at Pinehurst. Ashworth will provide its expertise as having been the lead apparel vendor for the 2001-2004 U.S. Opens to raise the bar on these events. Providing U.S. Open and Pinehurst-branded merchandise continues to reinforce Ashworth as the leader in golf apparel of the sport.
