ASA Honors Big Rock Sports Executive

The American Sportfishing Association has recognized Big Rock Sports Senior Vice President of Industry Relations Gary Zurn with their Future of Fishing Award

The American Sportfishing Association (ASA) annually recognizes industry leaders, advocates and journalists who have made outstanding contributions to preserve recreational fishing. For those 828,000 people economically impacted by the sport, these select individuals are defenders of livelihood and tradition.

ASA praised Zurn for his steadfast service to the industry and outstanding efforts in gathering retail data and critical information concerning saltwater fishing. Over the past decade, Zurn’s efforts have protected fishing access for millions of anglers.

“I am deeply and sincerely humbled by this honor from ASA. We have worked hard to ensure that fishermen and -women will be able to prosper from and enjoy fishing for generations to come,” said Zurn.

Big Rock Sports financially supports associations like ASA, funding efforts to protect fishing, hunting and outdoor rights across North America. Beyond monetary backing, Big Rock actively engages in political proceedings-sending representatives like Zurn to congressional hearings in Washington, DC as well as conducting independent research.

“If anglers, retailers and government work together, we can preserve our nation’s great fisheries and our access to these plentiful waters, said Zurn.
