Armasight, the maker of thermal and night vision scopes, optics and goggles, announced that it has expanded its facility footprint in Tempe, AZ by more than 10,000 square feet and increased its in-house machining and testing capabilities, “resulting in a 25 percent boost in production throughput.”
The company noted in a media release that the expanded facility and equipment will allow Armasight to “accelerate new product development cycles, improve after-sales service and maintain consistent quality across its growing line of thermal and night-vision systems.”
The expanded machine shop now features two live-tool CNC lathes with bar feeders, three vertical milling machines equipped with 4th-axis capability, and a range of manual machining equipment.
Armasight, based in Northbrook, IL, has also added advanced tools for product testing and development, including an environmental temperature chamber for performance testing under extreme thermal conditions, 3D rapid-prototyping systems capable of printing in multiple engineering-grade plastics, and a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) for inspecting precision-machined components.
“By investing in these capabilities, we’re reinforcing what Armasight has always stood for, which is uncompromising performance, reliability and support for professionals who depend on their gear. This expansion allows us to respond faster to customer demand while maintaining the tight quality control that defines our products,” said Steve Lemenov, senior director of Marketing.
