Arklyz, the Swiss parent of The Athlete’s Foot, has acquired German comfort footwear brand Gabor.

Arklyz said the transaction is a strategic expansion that will grow its global portfolio in the sports, footwear, and lifestyle markets. Arklyz owns, operates and distributes several brands and retail networks, including The Athlete’s Foot, Asphaltgold, Intersocks, Arkrod, Lloyd, Crocs, Salomon, and Head.

“Gabor is a highly respected brand with deep roots in quality and comfort excellence,” said Param Singh, owner & CEO of Arklyz. “This acquisition represents an important milestone in Arklyz’s journey to become a global leader in premium footwear. Gabor’s proven product expertise and trusted brand identity, paired with Arklyz’s global capabilities, will create a powerful foundation for future business growth.”

Headquartered in Rosenheim, Germany, Gabor reports that it “sells its casual boots and sneakers to over 60 countries worldwide through a combination of retail, wholesale and e-commerce channels.”

With this acquisition, Arklyz aims to strengthen Gabor’s international footprint, expand its digital and direct-to-consumer channels, and pursue operational synergies.

Stefan Blöchinger, Gabor CEO, said, “Joining Arklyz opens exciting new possibilities for Gabor. We look forward to collaborating closely while continuing to uphold our commitment to quality, comfort, and design excellence.”

The closing of the acquisition is subject to customary anti-trust approvals and other standard closing conditions.

Following completion of the transaction, Gabor will continue to operate under its existing brand and management structure to ensure business continuity and preserve its brand identity. The parties have agreed not to disclose financial details of the transaction.
