Arc'teryx said it hired Eric Schierl, 39, to run its “whiteline” or winter 2011 business within its European sales team. The French outdoor sports specialist will work with the European Arc’teryx sales force and retailers to sell the company's vastly expanded snowsports line.

Schierl is based at Arc'teryx's new 110-square-meter showroom in Annecy, close to the Mont-Blanc area, but is also organizing a new showroom in the Haute Savoier. Besides his native French, he speaks English, Spanish and Italian.

Schierl has served as sales manager for the Eider and Killy brands since 2006 and joined Arc’teryx in December 2010.

“Having only just started, I am in the middle of a dynamic order season with a great kick-off together with our key accounts in Chamonix in December ‘10. Arc’teryx is well known for its technically sophisticated, quality product range and I can’t wait to work out sales tools with our store partners that perform just as well,” Schierl said.

Arc’teryx generates roughly 40% of its sales in Europe.
