Anchor Blue appointed Erik Forsell as vice president of marketing. He was formerly VP of brand development at La Jolla Group.

Reporting to Executive VP Chris Finazzo, Forsell will oversee all elements of marketing and branding including the launch of e-commerce, store design, store visuals and Anchor Blue University, the brand’s mobile university tour.

“Erik’s proven his ability to redefine brands and build an integrated marketing program,” says Finazzo. “In his new position at Anchor Blue, hell have every tool needed for Anchor Blue to speak directly to our customer in an effective way.”

In his most recent role as VP of Brand Development at La Jolla Group, including brands ONeill, Rusty, Lost and Metal Mulisha, Forsell focused on store design and visuals, launching e-commerce, developed an in-house creative agency with photography and video, and strategic planning for most brands.

“My goal is to define and develop the brand and personality of Anchor Blue by staying relevant to our target through a focused message in order to drive sales,” says Forsell. “Im excited to be here and partner with our talented merchandisers and designers to elevate the business.”

He continues, “Were starting at the ground floor and focusing our efforts on truly defining who our customer is and how we talk to them through all touch points – photographs, social media, in-store, labeling, apparel and store design.”

Forsell worked previously in marketing at the world’s leading action sports trade event, Action Sports Retailer, a Nielsen Media company, YouthStream Media Networks, an agency focused on reaching young adults, and holds an MBA in marketing.

Anchor Blue gains an E-commerce option starting this fall. The denim, juniors and men’s focused retailer has 112 stores across the western U.S.
