American Holoptics has acquired the Armasight night vision and thermal optics brand from Ecentria Group, the corporate parent of OpticsPlanet.com. Terms were not disclosed.
American Holoptics, based in Clawson, MI, said the acquisition of Armasight, based in Tempe, AZ, will diversify its portfolio. Its other brands include EOTech and Armasight.
Joe Caradonna, managing partner for American Holoptics, said in a media release, “The thermal and night vision market is growing rapidly, but the primary growth is in the consumer, price-friendly space. We look forward to entering this market with the solid product line currently in place, but also to infuse our optical expertise to not only enhance these products but to develop new, innovative solutions.”
Mark Levitin, CEO of Ecentria, headquartered in Northbrook, IL, said, “Re-launching and rebuilding Armasight as a brand offering innovative and high-quality thermal and night vision products over the past five years has been an amazing journey for Ecentria. By divesting Armasight to American Holoptics, we are ensuring the brand has the resources and expertise to thrive, and I look forward to seeing its continued success as a part of this great organization.”
