Amer Sports said Victor Duran, its senior vice president of marketing and business-to-consumer and a member of its executive board, has resigned in advance of assuming the CEO role at Intersport International Corporation Jan. 1, 2017.

Michael White, Amer Sports’ Chief Sales Officer and General Manager, EMEA and Americas,  is appointed Amer Sports Chief Commercial Officer with the additional responsibility for the company’s global Business-to-Consumer and Go-to-Market Marketing in addition to his current regional responsibilities.

Matt Gold continues to lead the company’s APAC region as General Manager and member of the Executive Board, given the strategic importance of the region, especially China. The changes in the Executive Board are effective immediately.

“The consumer is today navigating and purchasing without boundaries across all channels from wholesale to brand stores to e-commerce, and we continue to evolve our strategy and re-organize ourselves to respond to the consumer’s changing habits and practices,” said Amer Sports President and CEO Heikki Takala.

“Combining our Go-to-Market under one leadership will enable us to accelerate with further scale and synergies in our commercial operations,” Takala continued. “Over the past six years under Victor Duran’s leadership we have transformed Amer Sports into a leading omni-channel company with world-class e-commerce and digital consumer engagement and capabilities. We thank Victor for his contributions to the company, and we wish him all the best for his new exciting career. Simultaneously, I am reassured that our new one omni-channel commercial model under Michael White’s leadership will enable us to accelerate further.”
