Amer Sports Corporation has named Chris Considine as president of Wilson Sporting Goods Company. This includes the Golf, Racquet Sports, and Team Divisions world-wide. Chris Considine will also be responsible for Amer Sports North American Services organizations, which includes IT, Legal, Tax, and Logistics. This decision consolidates the overall direction of the brand and will provide greater efficiencies to the business units, enabling Wilson to communicate a more consistent brand message to the consumer and trade channels.

“Chris’ commitment and leadership has been unwavering. The Team Sports business has consistently been seen as a leader in innovation, profitability and growth for many years,” says Roger Talermo, president and CEO of Amer Sports Corporation. “We have the utmost confidence in Chris being the driving force for the future of Wilson.”

Steve Millea, the former president of Wilson Golf and Racquet Sports has been appointed to head up the Amer Sports Sourcing Initiative. This Asia based position involves all Amer Sports Brands (Wilson, Atomic, Precor, Suunto and Salomon). Prior to this position, all brands sourced materials and products individually. By consolidating these functions, the group will achieve synergies in the purchasing and supply chain process.

“Since the acquisition of Salomon, we recognized the benefits in consolidating the sourcing function of the group. Steve’s business and financial experience as well as his deep know how of the Far East business culture makes him the perfect person to lead this important initiative,” says Roger Talermo, president and CEO of Amer Sports Corporation.

Millea has been with Wilson for over 21 years. He was the VP and CFO of Wilson, the VP for Wilson’s International Operations and the GM for Wilson Asia Pacific.

Considine has been with Wilson for over 24 years. He has led the Team Sports Division since 1994. Under Considine’s leadership, the Team Sports division has grown its market share and profitability significantly and is the leading Team Sports Company in the world.

Both Considine and Millea will continue as members of the Amer Sports Executive Board and both report directly to Roger Talermo, president and CEO of Amer Sports Corporation.
