Amazon, the kingpin of online retail, is purportedly vying for live broadcasting right for various team sports leagues including the NBA, NFL, MLB and MLS, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.

The report explained that Amazon hopes to bundle these features with its Prime membership.

However, Amazon is far from the first company to think up the idea, as live streaming has been granted to Yahoo, Twitter and Snapchat for various live-game league coverage. The popularity of the business proposal between these sources and pro sports is in part a result of the overwhelming popularity of mobile watching, as opposed to traditional couch/cable viewing.
