Alo Yoga opened its first physical retail spaces in Greater China, launching a massive flagship in Hong Kong and its first mainland China pop-up experience in Shanghai.
The Hong Kong store, opened on September 25 at K11 Musea, spans 7,000 square feet across two levels overlooking Victoria Harbour. Opened on October 1, the Shanghai location in the historic Zhangyuan district covers three levels and includes an Alo Café, meditation courtyards, and movement studios. The pop-up is expected to run through February 2027.
Alo Yoga overall plans to open a total of nine stores across seven cities in the near-term across seven cities in China and Hong Kong, including the initial flagship plus eight other boutique and flagship locations. The cities include Shanghai (two stores planned), Beijing, Hong Kong (including the K11 Musea flagship), Macau, Shenzhen, Chengdu, and Hangzhou.
The remaining locations will roll out through 2027.
The store openings follow Alo Yoga’s online market debut in August with Tmall as its exclusive partner. Prior to the online and in-store launches, local shoppers bought the label directly through cross-border web orders or through wholesale rails at department store Lane Crawford.
Jimmy Zhu, president China & North Asia at Alo Yoga, said on LinkedIn, “Today marks another pivotal moment for us as we unveil our Zhangyuan pop-up, marking the brand’s first physical destination in mainland China. Spanning three floors and exterior courtyards, the pop-up offers an immersive expression of ALO’s values, seamlessly connecting retail with movement, wellness and community.
“The Zhangyuan pop-up marks the next chapter in ALO’s growth across China and North Asia, following the August launch of our Official Tmall Flagship Store and WeChat Mini Program, and the September announcement of its regional retail expansion, with eight Sanctuaries across seven cities, plus the newly opened HK K11 flagship store.
“At Zhangyuan, ALO translates its Los Angeles heritage through the distinct energy and cultural landscape of Shanghai. Conceived as more than a place to shop, the pop-up invites guests into the complete ALO universe across retail spaces, courtyards, the Wellness Suite and movement studios. Together, these spaces embody ALO’s core pillars of movement, mindfulness, recovery and connection.”
Prior to joining Alo Yoga in April 2026, Zhu was managing director, Greater China fro Givenchy and previously worked for Prada and Giorgio Armani.
The push into Asia is part of an international growth strategy that has already taken Alo Yoga to Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and other Asian markets. The United Kingdom was its first European market, with the opening of its first store in London in 2023, with stores also located in Amsterdam and Dublin. In Asia, Seoul became another key market when it opened its flagship in June 2025.
Alo Yoga operates around 170 stores globally, including about 100 in the U.S.
