The American Indoor Lacrosse Association and the Prep School Lacrosse Showcase announced a new partnership to launch the National Collegiate Lacrosse Academy (NCLA) in the summer of 2015.  The NCLA is the first academy of its kind dedicated to improving the overall performance and lacrosse literacy of college-bound lacrosse players through box lacrosse education.

The NCLA’s World Class staff includes:

  • Steve Beville; Head Coach Iroquois National Men’s Lacrosse Team
  • Glenn Clark; Assistant Coach Canadian National Indoor Team
  • Derek Keenan; Assistant Head Coach, Canadian National Indoor Team & Current Head Coach, NLL Edmonton Rush
  • Johnny Mouradian; Director, Canadian National Indoor Team
  • Jim Veltman; Former Assistant Coach, NLL Toronto Rock & World Box Lacrosse Gold Medalist

The NCLA features instruction from AILAs world-class field and box lacrosse coaches who teach the biomechanics, principles and strategies of box lacrosse and most importantly, how to apply those box components to the field game. The camp curriculum will also place heavy emphasis on lacrosse appropriate strength and conditioning, the nutritional needs of a college athlete and sports psychology seminars.  Players will also receive mentoring from current and former players to help them better understand the rigors associated with being a student-athlete.

For years these athletes have devoted themselves to attending countless club tournaments and showcases.  AILA and the PSLS have delivered a perfect solution to those players that have already committed to a specific college, said David Bruce, Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach at Brunswick School in CT. They have assembled an amazing staff of seasoned and very knowledgeable coaches who will focus on skill development, which is often lost during the summer circuit.  Im sure the camp will be very popular and I am excited to see some of my players attend.

Our goal is to share our knowledge and wisdom of lacrosse with the premier high school players in the nation, said Johnny Mouradian, president and founder of the AILA.  We are confident these players will have a distinct advantage when they step onto the field for the first time to ignite their college careers.

The NCLA is an intensive 5 day, 4 night academy:
