It appears the battle that started with Nike’s offer to sponsor the
German national football (soccer) team in early December 2006 has come
to a close with adidas still the team’s kit supplier. Reports out of
Germany have the German Football Association (DFB) sticking with the
supplier it has partnered with for over 50 years, despite the
reportedly €500 million offer made by Nike.

The DFB said more details will be released to the public today, but
local reports say that the DFB agreed to a compromise that will see
adidas supply uniforms to the national team until 2018 while increasing
its annual payments from €11 million to €20 million per year from 2011
to 2014 and then to €25 million per year from 2015 to 2018.
