North Carolina State University has agreed a four-year sponsorship deal with Adidas.

The German sportswear brand will provide footwear and apparel to all 23 North Carolina State sports teams, known as the Wolfpack, as the university switches to an institution-wide deal. It will also create a range of replicas and licensed merchandise for sale across the US. According to the Burlington Times, the deal is worth $7 million in total, including value-in-kind elements and a $425,000 a year cash payment.

Deborah Yow, the director of athletics at North Carolina State, said: “After months of discussion about moving our 23-team department to an all-sport sponsorship, Adidas emerged with the best proposal for our athletes, coaches and University. The innovative product line at Adidas is tremendous and we are pleased about the considerable cost savings we will realise through this expanded partnership.”

Adidas director of sports marketing Chris McGuire added: “We are very excited to extend our partnership with North Carolina State to outfit all 23 teams. The Wolfpack had very successful fall and winter seasons and we look forward to continuing to bring the best in performance uniforms, footwear and apparel to State’s athletes and fans.”
