Adidas announced a multiyear partnership with shortstop Xander Bogaerts of the Boston Red Sox. Bogaerts will be featured in upcoming Adidas brand marketing campaigns and collaborate on future baseball cleats and accessories.

“I love what the Adidas brand stands for and what they’re doing with their creator mentality,” said Bogaerts. “The brand has a ton of momentum right now, and I had to be a part of this energy and this dynamic sports product family.”

Nicknamed “The X-Man,” Bogaerts made his MLB debut in 2013, helping the Red Sox to the World Series championship. He became the Red Sox’ starting shortstop in 2014 and was awarded the American League Silver Slugger award at the position in back-to-back years in 2015 and 2016.

Bogaerts joins the Adidas Baseball family that includes 2016 National League MVP, third baseman Kris Bryant of the World Series Champion Chicago Cubs, All-Star pitcher Chris Archer of Tampa Bay Rays, 2015 Major League Baseball (MLB) American League Rookie of the Year, shortstop Carlos Correa of the Houston Astros, Center fielder and stolen base master Billy Hamilton of the Cincinnati Reds, among others.
