Adidas Outdoor added rock climber Meagan Martin, 23, to its team of athletes. Martin earned first and second place finishes in Speed Bouldering and Bouldering at the 2013 Dominion Riverrock competition in Richmond, Va., claiming the title of overall champion.

“Meagan possesses that special energy, focused dedication, and work ethic that we look for in our outdoor athletes,” said Greg Thomsen, Adidas Outdoor managing director.  “She is an excellent climber with a very promising future in the sport and we look forward to working with her and supporting her in upcoming endeavors.”

In the last few years, she has achieved a number of accomplishments including a fourth place finish at the 2014 Di’namik Competition in Salt Lake City, Utah, and third place finishes at the Dark Horse Season 4 Championships in Boston, Mass., and the Psicocomp in Park City, Utah, both in 2013. Martin is quickly gaining ground in the sport and has completed free-climbs in locations throughout the United States, including The Marble (V10) at Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, Resident Evil (V10) in Joe’s Valley, Utah, and Honeycomb (V10) in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Born and raised in Florida, Martin started rock climbing when she was 11 years old and competitively climbed for five years until she got into the sport of pole-vaulting. She went on to compete for Vanderbilt’s Division l Track & Field team. After graduating in 2012, Martin returned to the sport of rock climbing and recently moved to Boulder, Colo., to rededicate herself to the sport of climbing and pursue a career as a professional rock climber.
