Adidas Outdoors sales rose 20 percent in the first quarter on strong sales of Gore-Tex jackets, hiking boots and backpacks, the company’s outdoor chief  Rolf Reinschmidt told Wirtschafts Woche, the German language business magazine.

Annual sales of the business are now approaching €350 million and on track to hit $500 million in 2015, Reinschmidt told the magazine in an interview conducted during the OutDoor Show at Friedrichshafen.
 
In 2012, Germany-based Jack Wolfskin was believed to be the largest European outdoor brand with €351 million in sales, reported Wirtschafts Woche which translates to Business Week. That means Europe’s two largest outdoor brands still trail The North Face, Columbia and Patagonia.
