Adidas extended its contract as the official kit supplier of Real Madrid for another eight years through 2034.
Adidas first partnered with the Spanish football club in 1980 and then re-established its partnership after a “short break” beginning with the 1998/99 season. In total, Adidas has collaborated with Real Madrid for over 35 years, during which time it has won eight UEFA Men’s Champions League titles.
The agreement also includes the Academy and Genuine teams, the Real Madrid women’s team and the Real Madrid Basketball team.
Florentino Pérez, president of Real Madrid, stated: “This agreement that we are signing today is the most important in the history of football. The strategic alliance between Real Madrid and Adidas has helped us, over these three decades, to experience one of the most wonderful periods in our history. It has also enabled us to continue nurturing this universal feeling known as madridismo.”
Adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden said: “This is one of the longest and most successful partnerships in sport. Real Madrid is a very special club with an exceptional history. I am extremely proud that the Three Stripes will continue to be part of this extraordinary success story. We look forward to continuing to provide the best products for the team to help them perform at the highest level. For their huge fanbase around the world, we will create exciting lifestyle product to allow them to show their passion and support for the club — both in the stadiums and on the streets.”
