Adidas has appointed Patrick Nava, who joined the company in 2019 after tenures at McKinsey and Gap, as general manager of Adidas Running, where he will lead strategy, product development and global marketing for the division.
Nava most recently served as global VP of product management for running. He assumed the role in September 2021, bringing his experience from joining Adidas as VP of business development and head of the Head Office in September 2019.
Previously, Nava served at Gap, Inc., working at the retailer’s San Francisco offices for just over three years, with his last role being senior director, Strategic Alliances. Prior to that, he was a consultant at McKinsey & Co. for nearly five years, first in Germany and then in the U.S.
At Adidas, he is based at the group’s German headquarters in Herzogenaurach. His hiring was noted by Nava in a LinkedIn post, which reads:
“From playing in the 3-Stripes in my backyard as a kid to leading adidas Running today — pinch me!
“I am excited to have stepped into the role of General Manager for adidas Running, with the chance to continue shaping the future of running alongside an amazing team.
“Thanks to the Adidas board for trusting me with this opportunity.
“Sport has always been part of my story. Now, I look forward to helping write the next chapter for running at Adidas. Let’s rock ’n’ roll!”
