Academy Sports + Outdoors has opened five new stores in the fourth quarter in Russellville, AR; Seguin, TX; Fort Wayne, IN; El Paso, TX; and New Braunfels, TX. With the addition of these stores, Academy will have opened 24 new locations by the end of fiscal 2025.
“We are thrilled to expand our footprint with 24 new stores while also giving back to local communities that demonstrate a passion for sports and outdoors,” said Eric Friederich, senior vice president of Retail operations at Academy Sports + Outdoors.

Combined, Academy’s 24 new stores will have created over 1,400 jobs.
Based in Katy, TX, Academy has grown to more than 300 stores across 21 states.
