Academy Sports and Outdoors, Inc. reported that earnings on an adjusted basis rose 18.6 percent in the first quarter as total sales rose 6.7 percent and same-store sales improved 2.7 percent. The Texas-based retailer raised the lower end of its sales and earnings guidance for the year.

Adjusted earnings of 93 cents came out just ahead of analysts’ consensus estimate of 92 cents. Sales of 1,44 billion were in line with estimates.

Subsequent to the end of the first quarter, Academy announced that its Board of Directors, on June 4, 2026, declared a quarterly cash dividend with respect to the quarter ended May 2, 2026, 15 cents per share of common stock. The dividend is payable on July 16, 2026, to stockholders of record as of the close of business on June 18, 2026.
